MISD: Aspiring Manager webinar

Description

Adam Sawle hosts this specialist webinar which provides an insight to the Aspiring Manager course (AMC) as part of the Mastering IT Support Delivery (MISD) curriculum. Adam has the honour of introducing Noel Bruton, the scheme author who will explain to the webinar attendees the need for a pragmatic approach to IT support delivery, how the MISD qualification scheme services this need and why you should be considering AMC

MISD is relevant to any IT department or industry service provider. This is because it focuses purely on the ‘How To’ of technical workgroup management and IT support, it operates in tandem with, or without all other IT management frameworks.

Whilst covering the whole MISD curriculum we will also specifically focus on AMC, a course that is designed for the IT Support operative aspiring to or being readied for a supervisory, or ultimately a management position.

It covers two key areas:

  • The sizeable, fundamental shift in mentality and perspective necessary to commence a career in management.
  • A detailed comprehension of the nature and delivery of external support, such as that offered by the external "channel".

AMC is aimed at Operational-level technical staff from any part of IT who aspire to positions of supervision, team-leadership or management of others

  • Leaders of ICT workgroups experiencing difficulties in growing beyond their technical role
  • Managers requiring a quick refresher of the nature and mindset of their role in a technical context
  • Operatives being fast-tracked toward, or assessed for, future leadership role

Specifically the webinar will cover:

  • Welcome and introduction
  • Why is MISD different?
  • The MISD qualification scheme
  • Aspiring Manager course (AMC)
    • What is it?
    • Who is it for?
    • The benefits of blended learning
    • AMC course content
  • What next?
  • Q & A
