To obtain the designation ITIL Managing Professional (ITIL MP), ITIL Strategic Leader (ITIL SL) or ITIL Practice Manager (ITIL PM), the professional must complete all modules in each stream, with ITIL Strategist being a module contributing to both streams and Create, Deliver & Support a module contributing to both PM & MP streams.

ITIL Foundation

ITIL 4 Foundation is the entry level certification, offering end learners a general awareness of the key elements, concepts and terminology used in ITIL 4. ITIL 4 Foundation is aimed at entry level IT professionals, those who need a basic understanding of ITIL, or would like to progress to higher levels within the ITIL 4 certification scheme.

The purpose of ITIL 4 Foundation is to introduce candidates to modern IT enabled service management.

Create, Deliver & Support (ITIL Specialist module)

For an organization to effectively create, deliver and support its products and services it is essential to understand value and how value is created across each and every activity performed across the Service Value Chain.

This certification describes how value streams can be built and managed in a holistic way and how continual iterations and feedback loops can be included. It explores areas such as development, testing, knowledge, customer and employee feedback, new technologies, sourcing, and ways of managing work. Create, Deliver & Support focuses on those activities in the areas of Obtain/Build, Design & Transition and Deliver & Support.

ITIL 4 Drive Stakeholder Value

Drive Stakeholder Value (ITIL Specialist module)

To drive stakeholder value, all stakeholders must contribute to the co-creation of service value.

The Drive Stakeholder Value certificattion aims to guide stakeholders, whether they are customers or service providers, through the principles and practices of co-creating value through services. It will discuss the main steps of a customer journey, providing guidance on how to co-create the most valuable journey. Drive Stakeholder Value therefore focuses on activities related to accepting Demand, Engaging with Stakeholders and realizing Value.

High Velocity IT (ITIL Specialist module)

Organizations are becoming increasingly digital enabled and the scope of the High Velocity IT publication is the primary activities in the digital value chain.

The more digital parts of an organization demand a significantly different way of thinking and working than traditional ‘operating models’ for IT service management.

High Velocity IT therefore focusses on all activities across the Service Value Chain with the emphasis on accelerated value streams.

ITIL 4 Direct, Plan & Improve

Direct, Plan & Improve (ITIL Strategist module)

This certification explores and explains principles, methods, and techniques that can be universally used to direct, plan, and improve.

Thorough planning creates a shared understanding of how work will be organized and managed, allowing contributors to understand their roles and to coordinate and collaborate efficiently and effectively.

Identifying and acting upon improvement opportunities ensures that the organization grows and remains successful and competitive over time. Direct, Plan and Improve therefore focuses on activities in and around Plan and Improve.

Digital IT strategy

Digital & IT Strategy (ITIL Leader module)

This certification will focus on the alignment of digital business strategy with IT strategy.

It also covers how disruption from new technologies are impacting organizations in every industry and how business leaders are responding. It will help IT leaders and aspiring leaders build and implement effective IT and digital strategy that can tackle digital disruption and drive success.

ITIL4 Managing Professional certification

Achieving ITIL4 Managing Professional certification involves successfully passing each of the following:

  • ITIL4 Foundation
  • ITIL Specialist modules
    • Create, Deliver & Support
    • Drive Stakeholder Value
    • High Velocity IT
  • ITIL Strategist module
    • Direct, Plan & Improve

ITIL4 Strategic Leader certification

Achieving ITIL4 Strategic Leader certification involves successfully passing the following modules:

  • ITIL4 Foundation & ITIL Strategist – Direct, Plan & Improve
  •     OR
  • ITIL4 Managing Professional Transition
  •     AND
  • ITIL4 Leader – Digital & IT Strategy

ITIL Practice Manager

ITIL Practice Manager courses are the latest addition to the ITIL qualification scheme. By the end of Q4 2023 there will be 15 Practitioner modules available. These are one-day courses that explore a single ITIL Practice in depth. A great addition to the scheme for those people who are looking to go beyond Foundation in an area of most relevance to them.

Recognising that some people may wish to complete multiple Practitioner modules in one go, there is also the option of the combined Practitioner course which takes an efficient approach by covering 5 practices across just 3-days.

ITIL Practice Manager qualification can be achieved by successfully combining the following:

  • ITIL4 Foundation
  • ITIL4 Specialist Module - Create, Deliver & Support
  • Any 5 one-day ITIL Practitioner courses
  •     OR
  • Any of the 3-day combined ITIL Practitioner courses

ITIL Master

The process to become ITIL Master is much simplified these days. Any candidate who holds all of the following would be considered to be an ITIL Master:

  • ITIL Managing Professional
  • ITIL Strategic Leader
  • ITIL Practice Manager

ITIL Extension Modules
