The changing ITSM Landscape

In this session we explore the need for change with regards to how IT Service Management has had to adapt to cope with developing technologies and increasing business demand.  Best practice approaches such as DevOps, Lean, Agile, SIAM®, VeriSM™, are increasing in relevance to help ITSM adapt, with the rationale behind the annouced ITIL® update being all about adapting for the modern world.

With input from the delegates in attendance we will identify what is going on in the real-world, expand on the best practice approaches and consider the relevance of each.

MarsLander™ – Agile Service Management Business Simulation

We have seen that many organizations who have ‘implemented’ ITIL® are now facing all kinds of new approaches such as DevOps, Agile and Lean initiatives. The biggest challenge for many organizations is to follow these trends, and transform their own ITIL® organization into one that is more Agile and Lean. A single framework is no longer an option. There is a need to adopt and integrate frameworks such as ITIL, Agile, Lean, DevOps to deliver fast, reliable end-to-end capabilities that deliver business value.

This role-playing simulation can help organizations start their transformation journey. It will help them to explore what Agile, Lean and DevOps are all about. How to use typical Agile and Lean principles and apply them for their own service teams. It will open the mindset of managers and employees and will help them better understand how this simulation can help develop new ways of working, collaborating and aligning with new frameworks. Whilst at the same time learn about continual learning and improvement in iterative steps.

ITIL® 4 Update

ITIL version 3 was released over 10 years ago, with the last update being in 2011.  The worlds most widely accepted framework for IT Service Management is therefore due for an update to incorporate technological developments, changes in working practices and the digital transformation of services.

AXELOS have been working an update since the start of the year and we will provide a full update on the progress made so far including an insight into what it means for your investment in ITIL so far and release timeframes.
