Sustainability is good for you

In 2012 the carbon footprint of the IT industry will exceed that of the airline industry! Reducing the IT carbon footprint is not only good for the planet, it is good for your business - lowering costs and streamlining your operation.

Sysop is committed to be the leading UK authority on Green IT. A member of both the BCS and itSMF special interest groups on sustainability, Sysop is one of only two organisations to offer training leading to the ISEB Certificate in Green IT.

Legal Obligation

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is a mandatory carbon emissions reporting and pricing scheme that applies to all organisations using more than 6,000MWh per year of electricity (equivalent to an annual electricity bill of about £500,000).

The CRC came into force in April 2010. Its primary focus is to reduce emissions in non-energy intensive sectors in the UK. This complements the role of Climate Change Agreements and the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, which are directed primarily at energy-intensive organisations.

Improving your energy efficiency will save you money and improve your organisation’s reputation. The CRC further strengthens the business case for doing this.

Position your organisation for maximum savings

There is a clear financial incentive to perform well in the CRC. You will reduce the number of emissions allowances you need to buy if you cut emissions, putting you at a cost advantage to competitors that have not cut emissions.
